TESTIMONIALS

Lindsey is the best reading tutor there is! She is not only extremely well versed in how to teach reading, she is also kind, patient, and supportive. When my son started working with her two years ago, he was adamantly refusing to try to read or write and making zero progress at school. Lindsey instantly bonded with him, creating a fun and engaging environment in her tutoring. She diligently helped him start to recognize the letters and their sounds and practice writing. I remember the first time he read a word, I wanted to cry.

Lindsey started working with our daughter at the age of 3 to prepare her for Pre-K and for the the Gifted & Talented exam. My daughter took to her immediately and can’t wait for her to come every week. Following the G&T test, our daughter couldn’t imagine not seeing Lindsey every week, so we continued with Lindsey to help teach her to read. Lindsey is exceptional as a reading teacher. The Orton-Gilligham program she uses is phenomenal for young readers. We were shocked with how well our daughter took to Zoom sessions during COVID, where Lindsey was able to make the sessions dynamic, engaging and fun. She worked with our daughter’s Kindergarten teachers directly to make sure they were on the same page with her progress. She goes above and beyond.

My son started the pandemic year below grade-level standards in reading and by the end of the year he jumped 5 reading levels! His confidence has grown so much and he loves reading now. Lindsey makes the sessions fun and she is really engaging, patient, and warm. I’m so thankful we found her. I couldn’t have asked for a better tutor for our son.

Lindsey was always very friendly, outgoing, and most importantly patient. Lindsey taught my daughter to break down problems helping to build her confidence in her math skills.

My 7-year-old son was struggling with reading and writing and we were told he had a possible learning disability. Lindsey worked carefully to establish a relationship with him, tutored him twice a week, and gave us daily homework, and within months he was picking up chapter books to read on his own for fun - we were thrilled and he was so proud of himself and regularly talks about what a "good reader" he is now!

Lindsey is upbeat, thoughtful, and easy to work with and helped our daughter take charge of her own homework and time, and take pride in getting her work in consistently.  Her teachers have noticed a difference in her preparedness and a more positive attitude. Lindsey is a versatile and talented teacher and tutor and I would recommend her highly to anyone seeking out help for a kid who is having a tough time mastering organizational, time management, or academic skills.

For the last 6 months, Lindsey has been working with my daughter focusing mostly on reading and writing skills and competency. In just a few short months, her teachers and I have seen a significant improvement in her abilities, but most importantly, my daughter’s attitude and confidence has improved and she is excited about learning and reading!  She looks forward to her time each week with Lindsey who is also there to support her with organization and executive functioning skills and sometimes a few math concepts. Lindsey’s passion for teaching and patient and sincere approach have my daughter looking forward to their sessions.  Lindsey has a special knack for selecting topics and books that my daughter is interested in working on.  The best testimonial though is that my daughter loves working with Lindsey so much that she encouraged her best friend to work with her too. The only negative thing I have to say is she showed up post Super Bowl in a Brady shirt. You can’t have everything.

Lindsey is our third tutor, and she is by far the best one! She is very organized, prepared, asks thoughtful questions, and tries to loop in with school teachers/therapists to get on the same page. My daughter has dyslexia and frequently needs extra help with writing, math, and reading comprehension. Often lessons in school move too fast or she needs more repetition or needs a different explanation or various reminders. My daughter loves working with Lindsey and reports that their time together is very helpful! We see Lindsey for 2 1/2 hours per week because we need a lot of extra support outside school. I have and will continue to recommend Lindsey to other parents. And we plan to keep seeing Lindsey until my daughter no longer needs extra help.

Our son has an IEP and significant attentional issues and processing delays. We enlisted Lindsey’s help to tutor him in ELA which was recently becoming more challenging for him. Lindsey quickly built rapport with him, assessed his reading level and started working with him on an Orton-Gilligham multi-sensory program. Within the first couple of months, he was successfully using phonics tools to approach new words and was starting to confidently spell words he previously would not have attempted. Our son looks forward to his sessions with Lindsey even though he acknowledges that she makes him work hard.

We are very happy with Lindsey’s work and look forward to continue working with her. I would recommend her without reservation and think she is uniquely skilled to work with children with special needs.

Lindsey has been amazing for our daughter. We have worked with tutors in the past and it was always a drag (literally) as our daughter didn’t want to go or felt she was not getting much out of her tutoring sessions. Then came Lindsey! Lindsey makes learning fun. Our daughter runs to tutoring. She is so excited about everything they work on together. Her teachers have noticed a big difference in her work. They are currently working on reading and writing with some math. My daughter tells me that she really understands the math concepts when she has a session with Lindsey. I can’t speak highly enough about Lindsey. 5 out of 5 stars from us!
